Message from the Director

We’ve had an unusual fall here in the Northeast Kingdom.  With warm, dry days and, candidly, not our most glorious foliage, we could be lulled into thinking that winter is not on it’s way.  But we Vermonters know that the season’s transition is inevitable even if the signs leading up to it are deceiving.  As the seasons transition, so will NEKYS.  It is time for NEKYS to “GO DIGITAL”!   This will be our last paper newsletter; all future newsletters will be sent out via email.  In order to continue to stay informed about all that’s happening at NEKYS, please be sure we have your correct email address.  The easiest way to ensure we have the correct information is to go to our website (www.nekys.org/newsletters) to sign up and fill out a short form.  Additionally, you can call us and give the information to our receptionist (748-8732) or email us (frontdesk@nekys.org) with the information.

I’d like to encourage you to make sure you continue to receive our newsletters to enable you to stay current with everything NEKYS.  You receive our newsletters because you have been a friend of NEKYS and have a clear and demonstrated interest and commitment to youth, adults and families in our communities.  You have partnered with us as we work together with program participants to identify their individual goals and develop plans by which their goals can be realized.  You have invested in their lives and their accomplishments have resulted in a stronger community which benefits all who call the Northeast Kingdom home.

Further along in this newsletter, you’ll read about past and future events, individual success stories and some staff changes.  With staffing changes, you’ll see we have some new faces, some familiar faces taking on new roles and a long time staff person making the decision to retire.  All these things are an expected part of the natural evolution of an organization.  The one thing that never changes is our commitment to continue to provide quality services/help/support to each person who comes through our doors.  Your generosity and trust continue to inspire and encourage us.  We are deeply grateful for your support and hope you will continue to partner with us and stay current by subscribing to our digital newsletter.   Thank you for your continued loyalty to NEKYS and local youth.
