NEKYS Completes Strategic Plan and Sets Strategic Priorities

NEKYS hosted a strategic planning retreat. The meeting was comprised of the NEKYS administration team, its board of directors and numerous community leaders and friends of NEKYS.  In total, there were 17 people participating, including our facilitator, with a goal to agree on strategic priorities to guide our work over the next three years.

The planning committee has identified six strategic priorities to explore and develop.

Strategic priority #1 concerns funding.  To pursue our mission we need to develop a clear and responsive financial plan to build a more diversified funding program.

Strategic priority #2 relates to staffing.  Our staff are the key to our success.  We recognize that we must acquire and retain professionals while providing a stimulating and balanced work environment.

Strategic priority #3 is community outreach. We must inform and engage our communities in their understanding of our programs and their impact within the community.

Strategic priority #4 involves leadership and governance.  It is imperative that NEKYS continually develops engaged board and volunteer leadership to assure the pursuit of our mission.

Strategic priority #5 is programming.  NEKYS must continually assess the relevancy, impact, and financing of programs both internally and within the community.

Strategic priority #6 refers to our facility.  We must consider facility needs in conjunction with programming and our service area.

NEKYS Strategic Plan could not have been developed without the thoughtful and engaged staff, board of directors and community members. Thank you all for your effort and commitment to this vital community organization:
