Parent Educator Program

The Parent Educator program is a strength-based education and support service. Establishing a positive, supportive relationship with parents and children is a key part of the Parent Educator's work with each family. Building on existing parent strengths and capacities to achieve change, the Parent Educator provides intervention services designed to preserve the child's primary family and prevent the need for children to enter Department for Children and Families custody or an out-of-home placement. Parent Educator services may also support families whose children are being transitioned home from a sustained out-of-home placement.
