Street Outreach Program

Street Outreach Program provides education and prevention resources to youth throughout our communities with the aim of reducing abuse, unsafe living conditions, substance use, unsafe sex, and HIV and sexually transmitted infections. The Street Outreach Program empowers local youth by connecting young people with their peers, community resources and leadership opportunities. Peer Outreach Workers help organize youth-driven activities and events through NEKYS Living Room drop-in center and out in the community. The Peer Outreach Workers at NEKYS are creative, accepting, and energetic. They are willing to reach out and stand up for youth issues in our community. Peer Outreach Workers receive statewide training and networking with other Peer Outreach Workers across the state.
