Community Rallies to Support Homeless Youth

Northeast Kingdom Youth Services (NEKYS) 12th Annual Walk to support homeless youth and young adults on Saturday, October 17th was a great success! Almost 160 community members, students, and businesses came together to raise awareness and funds. First place individual fundraiser this year was Rhonda Koral. Second place individual fundraiser was Rhonda Gilman. The Lyndon Institute Viking Cheerleaders led amazing cheers throughout the walk and was the first place fundraising team. LI Cheerleader Coach, Ashley Studdard commented on why the WALK is important to our community, ”The cheerleaders need to understand the issues of youth homelessness and that there are places like NEKYS that help youth facing homelessness and other issues.”Second place fundraising team was VSECU-Saint Johnsbury Branch. The need to support homeless youth and young adults continues to grow. NEKYS thanks all of our WALK supporters.
